Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Unveil the Pro Camera Features

Google will unveil the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel Watch 2, and two new Pixel Buds Pro colors (Porcelain and Sky Blue) on October 4 in New York City. The new camera features that users of the Pixel 8 series phones can anticipate finding on their new Pixel phones are revealed in a leaked official Google video, according to 91mobiles, which appears to be planned for the Made by Google event on October 4. The phone is presented as an AI tool with cutting-edge camera capabilities.

For the first time ever, Google says the Pixel 8 will offer Pro controls that are “modeled after DSLR controls,” enabling users of the Pixel 8 series to adjust the ISO, shutter speed, and focus settings. There will be a button to press that will allow you to reset the camera to its factory settings, so don’t worry about that.

According to the video, the Pixel 8 series cameras will “do amazing things,” like debut the Magic Editor feature that Google first unveiled at Google I/O back in May. Users will be able to rearrange objects after processing to change the composition of a shot in addition to being able to remove specific items from images. This is the kind of AI magic that, when Google first unveiled the Magic Eraser back in 2021, initially drew in a lot of Pixel 6 series buyers. Astrophotography, Macro mode, Night Sight, Real Tone, and Super Res Zoom are among the usual suspects that will be back.

According to recent rumors, the Pixel 8 will have a dual 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a field of view of 125.8 degrees and a 50-megapixel wide camera on the back. The same 50MP wide-angle, 48MP ultra-wide-angle, and 48MP telephoto cameras with 5x optical zoom and up to 30x super res zoom are anticipated for the Pixel 8 Pro. Although the front-facing cameras on both devices will be 10.5MP, the Pixel 8 Pro’s will have auto focus while the Pixel 8’s will have fixed focus.

The video also goes over some security features for the new Pixel phones, such as Safety Check, which notifies your emergency contacts if you don’t tap in after a certain amount of time, the Titan M2 security chip, and the VPN for Chrome. “It doesn’t just keep you safe, it saves you time,” Google claims before listing other standard Pixel features like Hold for Me, which lets Google Assistant put a call on hold so you can attend to other business, and Call Screen, which, well, screens your calls.
