While everyone’s attention is focused on the rumored launch event for the iPhone 15 that will take place on September 12 at Apple’s headquarters, new information is beginning to come to light. One of these new details relates to the accessories that are allegedly included with the new flagships. According to a leak from China that was posted on X/Twitter by user Majin Bu, the iPhone 15 series is supposed to come with a cable that connects to other USB-C devices. It is interesting to note that these cables reportedly come in a variety of colors that match the color of the iPhone, including Black/Midnight, Blue, Grey, Yellow, and Orange/Red. These colors are all available.

It is possible that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max/Ultra will be offered in a color scheme that is distinct from the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, so it will be interesting to observe how these color-matched USB-C cables appear when used with those devices. Naturally, this also means that Apple will have at least some models of the iPhone 15 available in each of these colors.

MacRumors’ citation of Kosutami, an Apple device prototype collector, lends credence to Majin Bu’s claim. Kosutami asserts that he has seen samples from the design validation test (DVT) of these new USB-C cables for the iPhone 15 series. This lends support to Majin Bu’s claim.

Apple has used braided charging cables in the recent past and possibly in the past as well. The MagSafe 3-compatible MacBook Air and Pro models, for instance, already come with a braided charging cable that is the same color as the device.

In light of this, there is a good chance that Apple will make this modification with the release of the iPhone 15 the following month. On the other hand, given the nature of early leaks and speculative reporting, we are treating this information with a healthy dose of skepticism for the time being.

MacRumors initially reported that these color-matched Apple iPhone 15 USB-C Cables would only be available for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. However, the publication later learned that these changes would also be implemented in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra models.
