Nio Phone Official Release Featuring Triple 50MP Camera

Nio launched its first smartphone today at a major Chinese event. It uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer. The device also has three powerful 50 MP rear cameras. The Nio Phone can function as a car key, which makes sense since Nio makes cars. An app on your phone lets you access this and over 30 other vehicle functions.

The smartphone’s 6.81-inch LTPO OLED front display can refresh at 120 Hz and reach 1800 nits, according to its marketing. Display resolution is 1440 x 900. You can choose between 512 or 1 terabyte of storage and 12 or 16 gigabytes of RAM.

Cameras are usually round or square, but the island layout is refreshing. Putting the LED flash and three shooters in a square was intentional. The 50-megapixel bottom-left primary camera uses a Sony IMX707 sensor and optical image stabilization.

The ultra-wide-angle camera, with a 110-degree field of view and a Sony IMX766 sensor, is at the top left of the image, and the periscope telephoto camera, with 2.8x optical zoom, OIS, and a Sony IMX890 sensor, is at the bottom right.

The Nio Phone will come in black, light blue, gold, dark blue, green, gray, and rose gold. Some shades have glass front panels and leather-textured backs.
