Pixel Watch 2 Will Launch With Pixel 8 and 8 Pro on October 4

In addition to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which represent the next generation of the company’s flagship Pixel phone line, Google is planning to unveil the Pixel Watch 2 on October 4. The Exynos 9110 processor was first shown to the public in 2018, the same year that the first generation Pixel Watch was released, and it was utilized in that device. Because it was featured on the first Galaxy Watch, the latter has pretty much reached the end of its useful life. Because it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, the Pixel Watch 2 should have a more responsive performance and a longer battery life than its predecessor.

Wear OS 3 was also included with the first generation Pixel Watch, and in order to pair it with an Android phone, the latter’s operating system had to be Android 8 or higher. According to the most recent data on Android distribution, 92 percent of currently used Android phones would be capable of satisfying the prerequisites necessary to pair with the first-generation Pixel Watch.

On the other hand, things will change. This will reduce the number of available Android phones to about 84% of all active models. Wear OS 4 will come pre-installed on the Pixel Watch 2, and it is likely that the original Pixel Watch will also receive an update to Wear OS 4 at some point in the future. It is highly improbable that the owner of a Pixel Watch, regardless of whether it is the first or second generation, will have an Android phone that is incompatible with the Pixel Watch or the Pixel Watch 2.
