TCL Introduced The World Of Paper-like Displays Smartphones

The TCL 40 NXTPAPER and TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G appear to be the world’s first smartphones with paper-like displays. They were unveiled ahead of the IFA 2023 conference.

The new NXTPAPER smartphones from the company have hardware certification from TUV for low harmful blue light, which makes them quite enjoyable for avid readers thanks to the cozy full-color viewing experience that mimics reading on paper. Not to mention that the NXTPAPER technology preserves the original color balance, so there are no compromises in the color displayed.

Both TCL smartphones also feature anti-glare functionality thanks to a matte finish texture that resembles paper. The fact that the NXTPAPER smartphones from TCL are fingerprint and smudge resistant is also significant.

TCL also disclosed that the full-color electronic display includes a specially created NXTPAPER UI that gives users the option of viewing manga in full color or in black and white.

The phones essentially differ in hardware. The TCL 40 NXTPAPER, for instance, has a larger 6.78-inch FHD+ display than the TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G, which has a 6.6-inch HD+ display.

Additionally, the former has a triple camera with a 50-megapixel resolution (50MP + 5MP + 2MP) and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, while the latter has a triple camera with a 50-megapixel resolution (50MP + 2MP + 2MP) and an additional 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The TCL 40 NXTPAPER has a MediaTek Helio G88 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage on the inside. The 5G model, on the other hand, has a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal memory.
