Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation Coming With USB-C Port

Apple made public on Tuesday an updated version of its second-generation Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones during the launch event for its ‘Wonderlust’ product line. When Apple first introduced the original model in 2022, it featured a Lightning port; however, the new model comes equipped with a USB Type-C port instead of a Lightning port. Apple claims that the updated wireless headset is now capable of being charged using the new smartphones, and that this is possible due to the fact that the iPhone 15 series now has a modern USB connector.

According to the company that makes the iPhone, the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation will support lossless audio playback over a wireless connection with the Apple Vision Pro in the following year. Additionally, the TWS headset from Apple is equipped with the same H2 chip and supports the improved Find My functionality that were introduced by the company on the second generation of TWS earphones in the previous year.

The characteristics and capabilities of the AirPods of the second generation

The most recent version of Apple’s AirPods Pro is equipped with the company’s most recent H2 chip, which enables user-customizable head tracking and Personalized Spatial Audio along with Dolby Atmos support. At the ‘Far Out’ event that Apple held the previous year, the company debuted the AirPods Pro of the second generation. According to Apple, the pressure sensors for the controls on the stems are the same as the ones found on the high-excursion drivers that are exclusive to the company.

In addition to the AAC compression format, the AirPods Pro 2 TWS earphones are capable of playing back lossless audio at 20 bits and 48 kilohertz when used in conjunction with Apple’s first spatial computer, the Apple Vision Pro, which was introduced earlier this year. Additionally, they support connectivity via Bluetooth 5.3. The charging case is equipped with a small speaker and an U1 chip, both of which allow it to play a sound to signal its location and make it easier to track down the earphones should they become misplaced.
