Lionel Messi was not honored by PSG After FIFA World Cup- Lionel Messi had claimed that; Says Nasser Al-Khelaifi (PSG Chairman). Lionel Messi recently stated that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) did not acknowledge him for winning the FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar last year. The information was quite shocking because it showed how Messi and the PSG team management had a strained relationship. It goes without saying that PSG officials were not pleased with the accusation, and club chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has since criticized the Argentine superstar. He categorically denied Messi’s claims in his interview with RMC Sport.

“We celebrated Messi in training and we also celebrated him in private, as everyone could see because we even published a video. We are a French club, though, so respect is due. Of course, celebrating at the stadium was inappropriate. According to Football Espana, the PSG chairman stated, “We must respect the nation he defeated, his teammates on the France team, and our supporters as well.

In last year’s World Cup final, Kylian Mbappe of PSG and France’s football team, which was led by Lionel Messi, faced off against Argentina. Argentina beat Les Bleus in the decisive match to win the world championship in Qatar.

The former Barcelona football player told ESPN that he was the only one of the 25 players who didn’t receive [club] recognition after winning the FIFA World Cup 2023. It was understandable that we [Argentina] prevented France from retaining the World Cup because of them.
